Bath Bomb recipe
Too simple to not have it on my recipe stash, my dear readers.
Short and simple fun bath bomb to make over the Labour long weekend.
Ingredients:
1 kg sodium bicarbonate
500g citric acid
4 tbsp coconut oil (or any oils you like and have handy)
1 tbsp essential oil mix of your choice
witch hazel spray (or just water if you don't have any)
optional ingredients to add:
250g magnesium sulphate (epsom salt)
2 tbsp magnesium chloride (magnesium flakes, do not add on hot baths, lukewarm water only)
colourings (personally, I don't like the cleaning up afterwards)
glitter, dried flowers (this makes a mess in the tub, so Itend to skip embellishments when I make it for my own use)
small soap for surprise centre (this optional ingredient is what I love, because it reveals itself when the bombis thrown in the bath and then I have fun trying to find the soap afterwards)
Method:
- mix the powders together, making sure there are no lumps
- then mix the oils with the powder
- if adding magnesium chloride, make that into a magnesium oil solution first before mixing it into the powder
- keep kneading mixture by spraying with witch hazel till it feels like the consistency of wet sand
- add colouring
- place the embellishmentsthat you want seen on the outer side of the bath bombs, first
- then fill the mold with the mixture, overfilling one half and then pressing the two halves together
- if you have soap surprise centre, place if on one of the side then press two halves together firmly
- lightly tap the mold to release the bath bomb, open the mold and gently take the bath bomb out
Enjoy!
